Germany's Defense Minister, Thomas de Maiziere, made a surprise visit to Regional Command North Wednesday to visit coalition troops. He learned about the progress of the Afghan National Army's 209th Corps on Camp Shaheen before a brief remembrance ceremony held aboard Camp Marmal. Germany's civilian chief of the military also visited Camp Marmal's hospital. Stay tuned tomorrow for a photo tribute to the scores of hardworking men and women who made this visit a success.
